Divorce lawyer for Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas divorce lawyer and attorney at The Jacks Law Group can ease the stress of your divorce, custody or child support case in two important ways.

First, we strive to get you a fair result.

A fair result means that your assets are evenly divided, support is set at the right amount based upon all relevant facts and your relationship with your children is preserved. Ideally these results can be negotiated, but if the other side is unreasonable, we are tough, experienced advocates who will not back down.

Second, we try to keep your legal costs low by doing things right the first time, moving your case forward until completion and considering at all times if the results will justify the dollars spent.

Beware of Las Vegas attorneys like "Tony the Tiger"

Las Vegan Anthony “Tony the Tiger” Lopez has, as of July 17, 2012, transferred to “Disability inactive status” with the State Bar of Nevada, which means he is no longer licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada. Therefore, Anthony Lopez cannot practice law in Nevada.  The Tiger is resting.
Anthony Lopez had billboards and radio ads focused on the Hispanic population, which he misled.  He had one billboard, for example, prominently displayed on Nellis Blvd. near Stewart, on the East Side of the Las Vegas Valley.  He called himself "Tony the Tiger" like the mascot for a cereal company.
Anthony "Tony the Tiger" Lopez Jr. was previously reprimanded for running a radio ad that "grossly misstated the law."  The Nevada Supreme Court reprimanded Anthony Lopez for a 10-second Spanish-language radio ad that said, "If you have had an auto accident, by law you have the right to receive at least $15,000 for your case.” The Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Associated Press reported on the story.
When attorneys engage in this kind of inappropriate advertising, they are hurting the legal profession in at least two ways.  The first, is that they are unfairly gaining clients that other attorneys could be getting by lying to the clients.  The second, once the clients learn they are being ripped off, they no longer trust lawyers.
When you are thinking about hiring an attorney, it is very important for you to hire the right attorney for you and your case.  This is why The Jacks Law Group encourages you to consult with several lawyers, including us, prior to hiring an attorney.  Some lawyers have no fear in misleading their own clients, which is unethical.  We believe that our clients deserve the truth, even if they do not want to hear it.  Remember the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it is probably not true.”  The misleading ads of Anthony Lopez are an example of the “too good to be true” rule.

Beware of businesses that say they can help you with a traffic ticket

BEWARE! There are people claiming to be lawyers in Las Vegas promising to fix traffic tickets. If you meet someone who makes this claim but are not sure whether they are really an attorney, you should contact the State Bar of Nevada and ask.

If you hire a fake lawyer, not only do you lose the money you gave them, but you could end up with a warrant for your arrest, larger fines, jail time, and points on your driving record because the false attorney did not do a thing for you through the courts. Do not fall victim. If someone is scamming you, get their information and call the Nevada Bar and the police immediately

Give the State Bar the name of the attorney and ask them if he or she is licensed in Nevada. Only then should you feel comfortable hiring the person. You may also call The Jacks Law Group, PLLC and we will check to see whether someone is really an attorney for you.

Remember, for misdemeanor crimes, you will not get a court appointed public defender.  If you want a criminal defense attorney to represent your interests, you will have to hire one in private practice.
